PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly receive positioning assistant information in preparation for positioning when a device is outside the service area of a mobile communication network. SOLUTION: A positioning assistant information update control function starts an operation of receiving positioning assistant information from a positioning assistant information server device and updating and storing the positioning assistant information (step S101) in the case that it is determined that the possibility of a change in the position of a mobile communication device after storage of the positioning assistant information is high, and when the positioning assistant information is received ("received" in step S103), the function updates the received positioning assistant information and stores the received positioning assistant information in the positioning assistant information storage (step S104). Here, the case where it is determined that the possibility of a change in the position of the mobile communication device is high, indicates the case where power is supplied to the mobile communication device, and it is determined that the mobile communication device has moved from outside the service area of the mobile communication network into the service area.
