摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein a structure for protecting end parts (sides and corners) with a lamination seal, or the like, similar to a region other than the end parts, is used, and in such a case, when a flat panel display falls or an impact is made from a substrate lateral direction, the end part which receives a large impact is not sufficiently protected, resulting in the degradation of reliability of the electrooptical device, in addition, when the lamination seal is increased in thickness to a degree for securing reliability on the impact made on the end part, a weight increases and flexibility is degraded. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device includes a first sealing layer for covering end parts of a pair of plate members, positioned outside an electrooptical layer in plan view of the pair of plate members, and a peripheral edge in plane view of the plate members; and a second sealing layer for covering at least a part of the first sealing layer and having a Young's modulus higher than that of the first sealing layer.
