PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device wherein a brake holding lever and a stopper for latching it are added to a conventional brake lever for a wheelchair care giver. SOLUTION: A brake device has a handle 1, and a brake lever 3 vertically turnably installed to a bearing 2 of the handle 1; and in the brake device, the brake lever 3 is turned downward to pull a brake cable 4; and in the brake lever 3 the wheelchair care giver in the brake device, the lever 3 is provided with the brake-holding lever 6, latched to the stopper 5 provided in the bearing 2, when turing the lever to a downward position, and holding the lever in the downward position.
