PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent foreign matter, such as paper powder, dust and dirt, from adhering to an inkjet recording head. SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus includes a cover 24 for covering the outer peripheral surface of a conveyance follower roller 15 which is disposed on the upstream side of the inkjet recording head 16. The cover 24 includes a paper contact part 24a, the paper contact part 24a comes in contact with a recording paper P. The paper contact part 24a, the inkjet recording head 16 and a support member 17 are made to have the same potential by equal potential forming means 20A and 20B, thereby creating the state in which an electric field is not formed therebetween (non electric field). That is, a Coulomb force is not applied to the paper powder or the like because an electric field is not formed. Accordingly, scattering/adhesion of the paper powder or the like to the nozzle plate 16a is surely prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
