PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high power amplifier circuit capable of detecting a distortion component in a nonlinear amplifier by a simple constitution and suppressing the distortion component at low cost with low power consumption. SOLUTION: The high power amplifier circuit includes: a nonlinear amplifier 11 having a nonlinear amplifier characteristic for amplifying and outputting an input signal having a known center frequency; a third harmonic wave extraction circuit 12 for extracting a third harmonic-wave component having a center frequency three times as large as that of the input signal out of the harmonic-wave component generated by the nonlinear amplifier characteristic from the output signal of the nonlinear amplifier 11; a distortion component detecting circuit 13 for inputting the third harmonic frequency component to detect strength, and outputting it as the strength of the distortion component generated by the nonlinear amplifier 11; and a distortion component suppressing circuit 14 for controlling an input signal of the nonlinear amplifier 11 according to the strength of the distortion component outputted from the distortion component detecting circuit 13 to suppress the distortion component of the nonlinear amplifier 11.
