PURPOSE: A light emitting device package and backlight unit with the same are provided to be used in both an edge mode and a top-down mode, thereby freely designing the backlight unit. CONSTITUTION: A main body(10) includes a cavity(11). A light emitting device(20) is arranged in the cavity and mounted in the main body. The light emitting device is protected by a package unit(40) which is made of transparent resins. A lead terminal(30) is electrically connected to the light emitting device. The lead terminal comprises a first lead, a second lead(32), and a third lead(33).
