<p>The turbine has a bearing element (20) including a cylindrical bearing surface (24) defining a thin liquid receiving space with a shaft (12), where the space is in the form of film. The surface defines rectilinear grooves (26) defined between strips (28) along a circumferential direction (C-C'). The grooves are dimensioned for circulating liquid i.e. sea water, in the space by natural convection due to heating and compression of the liquid during rotation of the shaft, where a ratio between radius (R24) of the bearing surface and width of each groove ranges is 10 and 40. The shaft is coated with ceramics.</p> |
