PURPOSE: A ship construction method is provided to settle a first large block already built in a dry dock and build the remaining part of a hull in the dry dock to thereby effectively reduce ship building time. CONSTITUTION: A ship construction method is as follows. A first large block is built(S110). The first large block forms one of right and left parts of the central part of a hull. The first large block is settled in a dry dock(S130). A second large block is built in the dry dock(S150). The second large block forms the other one of the right and left parts of the central part of the hull. A stem block forming the step of the hull and an engine block forming an engine room of the hull are combined with the first large block and the second large block(S170). A stern block forming the stern of the hull is combined with the engine block(S190).
