The assembly has a horizontal section (12) comprised of a protruding assembly member (11) and an elongated insert (8) to secure a post. The insert includes two vertical opening (10) to receive members of the horizontal section. The insert is connected to the post, and the insert and the horizontal section form frames that provide certain number of storage stages of a shelf structure when the insert and the section are assembled. The horizontal section comprises an end portion (17) that is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the section. An independent claim is also included for a shelf structure. The horizontal section is made of metal such as aluminum, titanium and alloy e.g. stainless steel.
