摘要 <p>Adhesive compositions for laminate structures, preferably of flat or curved glass layers applied, e.g. as safety shields, to or for cathoderay tubes, comprise a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, containing on average the residues of more than one bisphenol A molecule, and a polyoxyalkylene polyol containing at least three hydroxyl groups. The catalyst may be a boron trihalide and a polyoxyalkylene diol may be present. In the preferred adhesive, the diglycidyl ether has a molecular weight from 344 to 500; the polyol has the formula R[(OCnH2n)x(OC2H4)yOH]m, where R is a polyvalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 3-12 C atoms, n is 3 or 4, x is from 1 to 19, y is from 0 to 4 and m is from 3 to 8. The formula of the optional diol is <FORM:1003999/C3/1> where h is 0 to 13, n is 3 or 4 and q is 1 to 52. 14-45% of the diglycidyl ether is mixed with 20-85% of the polyoxyalkylene polyol, 0-50% of a polyoxyalkylene diol and 0.05-0.15% of a catalyst. A stabilizing agent may be present, e.g. 1.0-5.0% of an aryl phosphite, and the catalyst is preferably boron triflouride, the presence of bubble-producing ether in the final laminating composition being avoided. The laminating temperature is 60-80 DEG C.</p>
