[Also in Division F2] A fluid actuator for a valve comprises a housing 10 in which a piston 30 is slidable under the action of fluid supplied and exhausted through conduits 74, 76. A shaft 48 extends transversely through the housing and is formed at its ends with means for connection to the valve spindle. The shaft is fixed to a yoke 56 which has a slot 62 engaged by a pin 46 carried by a smaller part of the piston member 30 such that reciprocation of the piston rotates the shaft 48. The piston slides on a rod 24 which also serves to clamp the ends of the housing part together and prevents radial loads on the piston. A bush 40 is carried by the piston. |
