<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for a V-type engine, enabling to effectively reduce the height of an engine hood. <P>SOLUTION: The intake device 10 for the V-type engine 3 comprises a surge tank 13 arranged higher than a cylinder head of the V-type engine when attached to the V-type engine, and having an internal space divided into an upper portion 13a and a lower portion 13b, and a plurality of intake branch pipes 14 for communicating the surge tank with the intake ports of the V-type engine. The intake branch pipe communicated with one cylinder train of the V-type engine is connected to the upper portion of the surge tank, and the intake branch pipe communicated with the other cylinder train is connected to the lower portion of the surge tank. When the intake device is attached to a multicylinder engine mounted on a vehicle, the front end of the upper portion of the surge tank is located on the rear side of the vehicle beyond the front end of the lower portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
