The method involves adding cream at an inlet (1), where the added cream is collected in a quantitative manner. Additional buttermilk is added to the added cream, when the added cream is proved to be insufficient for the operation of a churning machine. The cream is converted into butter grains and buttermilk in a churning cylinder (2).
