1,046,788. Hair clippers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 26, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 25421/63. Heading B4B. The fixed cutter 9 of a hair clipper is urged against a housing wall 7 by means of a spring 2 held between the ends of a control slide 1 in the form of an open box, the spring having a tag 5 formed with a bent-over end 10 and with notches 11 forming a neck 12, the tag being passed through an aperture 6 in the wall 7 and through an aperture in the cutter. The cutter aperture has wide portions 8, 14 and a narrow portion 13. When assembling the cutter with the slide, spring and housing wall, the slide and cutter are pressed together so that the tag end 10 passes into and through the aperture portion 8 of the cutter; the cutter is then moved to the left, Fig. 3, relative to the slide and spring so as to allow the tag neck 12 to move into aperture portion 13 and finally into the aperture portion 14 of the cutter. When pressure on the slide and cutter is relaxed, the spring will move upwards until the tag end 10 abuts against the underside of the abutments defining the aperture portion 13. Movement of the slide along the wall 7 in directions P will then cause similar movement of the cutter into and out of operational position. |
