<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disconnection detector of a simple constitution in which each chip itself can detect the breakage of wires connecting any two chips in a multi-chip package in which a plurality of chips are mounted to the same package. <P>SOLUTION: A first disconnection detection circuit A2 detects that a wire Z is in a disconnected state in the case that the electric potential of an output terminal AT gets higher than an upper-bound electric potential or lower than an lower-bound electric potential. A second disconnection detection circuit B2 detects that the wire is in a disconnected state in the case that the electric potential of an input terminal BT get in the vicinity of half Vcc (that is, in the vicinity of some midpoint between Hi and Low). It is thereby possible for each chip to detect that the wire connecting the output terminal and the input terminal is broken without having to provide a transmission circuit or a watchdog timer separately from the chips.
