PURPOSE: A method for controlling warning about an unsuitable container in a microwave oven is provided to detect and warn a container unsuitable for high-frequency cooking in a microwave oven. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling warning about an unsuitable container in a microwave oven is as follows. A magnetron starts oscillation and the high frequency reflected from a container in a microwave oven is sensed(S1). The unsuitableness of the container is determined from the sensing of high frequency(S2). The oscillation of the magnetron is stopped when the container is determined to be unsuitable(S3). The unsuitableness of the container is warned(S4).
