New pseudodipeptide compounds (I) consist of N-aminoacylated tryptamine derivatives. New pseudodipeptide compounds of formula (I) consist of N-aminoacylated tryptamine derivatives. R1 = H, acyl or acyloxy, and R2 = the side chain of L-glutamic acid, L-arginine, L-cysteine, L-methionine, L-histidine, L-tryptophan or L-tyrosine; provided that if R1 = H and R2 = L-glutamine side-chain, the glutamyl residue is optionally cyclized to pyroglutamyl. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of (I).
