An information storing magnetic layer is connected to the writing magnetic layer, and includes at least one magnetic domain wall. The information storage device also includes a reader for reading data recorded in the information storing magnetic layer. The connection layer includes a first portion with a first width adjacent to the writing magnetic layer and a second portion with a second width adjacent to the at least one information storing magnetic layer. The first width is less than the second width.
