The invention relates to a method and equipment for the on-line controlling of the dynamic stability during cutting. The claimed method consists in monitoring simultaneously, during the entire cutting process, a pair of signals: a signal whose variation in time may be considered to be proportional to the variation in time of the cutting force, and another signal which may be considered proportional to the acceleration of the relative motion between tool and piece, the signals being recorded as pairs of time series and transmitted to a system for controlling the stability wherein they are processed according to an algorithm, the result obtained after processing being used in order to establish the position of the current point of functioning in relation to the limit of stability and also the corrections to be applied in order to modify the position of said point so as to reach a synthetic, pre-established desideratum. The claimed equipment for controlling the dynamic stability of the cutting process includes in its structure some force and acceleration sensors which determine the cutting force and the acceleration of the relative motion between a tool and a piece during the cutting process, some elements by means of which there are acquired the signals from sensors, integrated in a system of computing and controlling and also two communication interfaces, one for communicating with a system for controlling the technological system which carries out the cutting and one for communicating with the operator. |
