PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent-magnet motor generator having a small torque ripple, reduced noise and reduced vibration by utilizing reluctance torque. SOLUTION: The permanent-magnet motor generator includes a stator and a rotor opposed to the stator via an air gap. The stator includes a stator core and a stator winding which is winded around the stator core in distributed winding; the stator core includes an annular yoke core and a plurality of teeth cores protruding from the yoke core in a radius direction. The rotor includes a rotor core and a plurality of permanent magnets embedded in the interior of the rotor core. In the interior of the rotor core, a pair of non-magnetic portions is formed on both sides, each having a magnet pole, of a permanent magnet in a circumferential direction; a pair of magnetic paths is formed by formation of a pair of non-magnetic portions in a rotor core portion which is on the side of the stator with respect to the pair of the non-magnetic portions. In the perimeter of the rotor core, a groove or an opening is provided between outer faces having a width in circumferential directions of permanent magnets and between magnet poles of permanent magnets.
