PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder for recording data input from an external device, preventing exhaustion of data for recording, and stably continuing the recording operation.

SOLUTION: A control part 20 for controlling a printer 2 printing on heat-sensitive roll paper by a printing head 31 includes an image developing part 204 developing the data input from a host computer 4 and creating image data for printing, an image buffer 205 temporarily storing the image data created by the image developing part 204, and a print control part 206 reading the image data stored in the image buffer 205 and making the printer print on the heat-sensitive roll paper by the printing head 31. The print control part 206 controls the printing speed of a printing mechanism part based on the creation speed of the image data in the image developing part 204.
