Disclosed is a switch device having a communication sheet for transmitting electromagnetic waves, a wireless communication unit which stores predetermined information and which is adjacent to the communication sheet to transmit the predetermined information to the communication sheet in a wireless manner, a shielding unit which shields wireless signals transmitted from the wireless unit in a wireless manner, an operation unit which enables or disables wireless communication between the communication sheet and the wireless communication unit, and a determination unit which determines the content of an operation performed by the operation unit on the basis of the predetermined information transmitted in a wireless manner by the wireless communication unit. The shielding unit shields the wireless signals transmitted from the wireless communication unit by an operation performed by the operation unit, which disables wireless communication between the communication sheet and the wireless communication unit.
