<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layer modular and a changeable heat shield (100) for a gas turbine as an example preferred embodiment. <P>SOLUTION: This heat shield (100) device includes a base layer (102) adjacent to an aerofoil (34) and a thermal layer (103) bonded to the base layer (102). The base layer (102) and the thermal layer (103) match the outline of the aerofoil (34). An aerofoil system is provided as another preferred embodiment of this invention.
