AGENT HAVING ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYME-INHIBITORY ACTIVITY AND HYPOTENSIVE EFFECT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent that contains a peptide such as a non-biodegradable peptide having minimized in vivo zymolytic activity, and free amino acids, and exhibits ACE inhibitory activity or a hypotensive effect and a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: The agent includes as an effective ingredient a casein hydrolyzate containing free amino acids obtained by hydrolyzing animal milk casein into an average chain length of 2.1 or less in terms of the number of amino acid residues by a specific process, and a non-biodegradable peptide such as Xaa Pro and Xaa Pro Pro in a specific ratio, and is a useful agent exhibiting ACE inhibitory activity and a hypotensive effect.
