Positioning devices having an eccentric shaft (4) and a slot (12) for converting a rotary motion into a linear motion are generally known. Adjusting the force-stroke curve for adapting to particular applications is not known for valves constructed in such a manner. The invention thus proposes that the slot (12) describes a travel path (20) interacting with the eccentric shaft (4) and enclosing an angle to a plane perpendicular to the direction of motion of the adjusting element (16). The force-stroke curve of such a positioning device can thereby be adapted to different application cases.
