<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The device (6') has a tension cable (8) pulled through a housing opening into a housing (7'). The cable is connected inside the housing to a winding roll (9), and a ratchet wheel (11) with a ratchet catch (12') is provided on the roll. The cable is blocked against a tension direction by engagement of the catch with the wheel. The catch is moved incrementally outwards from an idle position, in which the catch is not engaged with the wheel and the cable is not blocked, by the action of centrifugal force upon rotation of a wheel, so as to engage the catch with the wheel. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Tensioning device for an anti-skid chain that is mounted on a wheel of a vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The ratchet catch is moved incrementally outwards from the idle position, in which the catch is not engaged with the ratchet wheel and the tension cable is not blocked, by the action of centrifugal force upon rotation of the wheel, so as to engage the catch with the wheel, thus locking the tension cable against the winding-up direction, so as to prevent an undesired winding up of the tension cable and to ensure a secure hold of the anti-skid chain on the tire, without an adverse effect on mounting of the chain.
