PURPOSE: A digital photographing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to shorten a photographing time by converting only photos necessary to the use of a continuous shooting function into a file. CONSTITUTION: An image unit(3) continuously photographs plural images, and generates raw data corresponding to the images. A first storage unit(14) stores the raw data, and a display unit displays plural reduction images corresponding to the plural images indicated by the raw data, and a user input unit(60) receives a user input which selects at least one of the reduction images displayed on the display unit.
