PURPOSE: A porous heat insulating material manufactured through an explosion forming method is provided to improve the performance of the insulating material by diffusing chemical reaction heat using an explosion forming agent. CONSTITUTION: A porous heat insulating material is obtained by mixing the mixture of expandable pearlite and vermiculite, a sodium silicate compound, and an explosion forming agent and undergoing a compression process, a heating process, and an explosion process. A composition for the explosion forming agent is based on sodium nitrate, sodium acetate, magnesium powder, and ethyl alcohol.
