<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element which includes a piezoelectric layer containing a lead zirconate titanate and having a composition exhibiting fine piezoelectric characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric element 100 includes a first electrode 20, a second electrode 40, and a piezoelectric layer 30 sandwiched between the first electrode 20 and the second electrode 40. The piezoelectric layer 30 is (111) oriented, and contains a perovskite oxide expressed as ABO<SB>3</SB>. In the piezoelectric layer 30, the A site contains lead, and the B site contains zirconium and titanium, where a ratio of zirconium to titanium is 0.6 or more and 0.72 or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
