<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constructs and methods for the regulation of reproductive development, particularly for the genetic ablation of reproductive tissues in angiosperm and gymnosperm species. <P>SOLUTION: Reproductive-preferred promoters, regulatory elements, and cytotoxic nucleotide sequences are disclosed for the regulation of reproductive development, particularly for the genetic ablation of reproductive tissues in angiosperm and gymnosperm species.
