PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and notify of a part, in which locking has occurred, in a powder conveying device for conveying toner, in a powder conveying pipe by a conveying screw configured such that a plurality of screws serve as components and are connected by a torsion coil spring. SOLUTION: A difference in rotational angle, between an element screw in which locking has occurred and an element screw adjacent to it, is detected by an encoder 70 by stopping a drive motor 68, to calculate the absolute value ¾θ1-θ2¾ of an angle difference. By calculating the absolute value ¾θ1-θ2¾ of the angle difference, it can be determined that the locking has occurred in which of the element screws 66(1) to (4), and by the calculation results, the notification, display or the like of the part, in which locking has occurred, can be performed.
