The method involves detecting an induction current for generating magnetic fields in a rotor. Voltage (U-Batt) is adjusted in an on-board network (150) of a motor vehicle using a body contact of a phase coil (113) of an electrical synchronous generator (110). Load control is performed in the network, and a power input of a consumer load is increased. The consumer load is connected to the network. The voltage in the on-board network is regulated when an output voltage exceeds a predetermined threshold value and/or induction current undercuts the predetermined threshold value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an energy supply system for an on-board network of a motor vehicle, comprising an electrical synchronous generator (2) a device for executing a method for regulating voltage in an on-board network of a motor vehicle.
