<p>PURPOSE: Demand control system and method are provided to efficiently control power consumption by controlling the operating factor of an air conditioner according to power consumption measured using learned peak power data. CONSTITUTION: A demand control system and method is as follows. A peak-power learning table for peak power consumption depending on the operating factor of an air conditioner is created(S360). Peak power corresponding to target power is set. The operating factor corresponding to the peak power is set using the peak-power learning table. The air conditioner is controlled so that the air conditioner is operated depending on the operating factor. The operating factor of the air conditioner is gradually increased from 0%, power consumption by each operating factor is measured and thus the peak-power learning table for peak power consumed for a given period is created.</p> |
