METHOD FOR BREEDING OF NEW PEPPER INBREDS USING THE MARKER LINKED TO MSK GENE FOR GENIC MALE STERILITY

PURPOSE: A method for breeding novel Capsicum annuum lineage using a marker linked to a genic male sterility msk is provided to distinguish homozygote(MskMsk) and heterozygote(Mskmsk) without sib crossing. CONSTITUTION: A heterozygote(Mskmsk) individual is seleted using msk-linked marker in a group having fertility and sterility in a ratio of 3:1. A method for breeding Capsicum annuum using msk comprises: a step of distinguishing msk genotype using cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(CAPS) and selecting; and a step of breeding the novel male sterility lineage using CAPS.
