PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that when an HDD is used as a storage destination of E mail, since printing processing is not started until reception completion, when E mail exceeding an allowable data size is received, the E mail cannot be printed, and when printing is performed with a little memory capacity by alternately repeating E mail reception and printing when using a RAM as the storage destination, PDL data cannot be printed during a period when the reception and printing are alternately repeated.
SOLUTION: Normally, reception and printing are performed when using a nonvolatile memory but when an allowable capacity of the nonvolatile memory is exceeded, E mail in the middle of reception is discarded and an error is returned to the transmission source of the E mail. By using repeated data retransmission from the transmission source, a system is automatically switched to the one receiving retransmitted E mail into the nonvolatile memory. This switching enables capacity limitation of a reception size to be eliminated by switching a storage destination to a volatile memory, when exceeding the allowable reception capacitance, although printing is enabled in parallel with PDL data since normally the nonvolatile memory is used.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
