Disclosed are a computer system, a management server, and a method for reducing power, which are capable of properly minimizing power consumption. Specifically disclosed is a computer system which comprises a plurality of physical servers and a management server that is connected to the physical servers via a network, wherein the management server calculates the time during power-off at which the amount of power consumption consumed by one or the plurality of physical servers between the designation of the power-off and the reactivation thereof and the amount of power that can be reduced by the power-off are equal, calculates the time predicted that a load on the computer system is not more than a predetermined threshold value when the load becomes not more than the predetermined threshold value, compares the time during the calculated power-off with the time predicted that the load is not more than the predetermined threshold value, and determines whether or not the power of the one or the plurality of physical servers is turned off according to the result of the comparison.
