PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly make a determination to perform discharge processing and increase the speed of writing processing in a memory system. SOLUTION: A memory system is equipped with: a cache memory; a nonvolatile semiconductor memory; a first means for storing data in a first management unit which is a natural number multiple of a sector unit in the nonvolatile semiconductor memory; and a controller having a second means for storing data in a second management unit which is a natural number multiple of two or more of the first management unit. The controller has a third means for managing data stored in the cache memory by an address of the first management unit and a fourth means for managing data stored in the cache memory by an address of the second management unit. When the number of addresses of the second management unit to which the data stored in the cache memory belongs, exceeds a predetermined threshold, data discharging processing from the cache memory to the nonvolatile semiconductor memory is performed.
