PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion material having a high fluorescence intensity, a wavelength conversion filter, and a wavelength conversion light emitting device and a photoelectric conversion device using the wavelength conversion filter. SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion material has at least one type of cyanine compound expressed by formula (I). In formula (I): X expresses an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a selenium atom, -CR<SP>4</SP>R<SP>5</SP>-, or -NR<SP>6</SP>-; A<SP>1</SP>and A<SP>2</SP>express an aromatic ring having 6-20 carbon atoms; and R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>6</SP>express a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, an aldehyde group, a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, -NRR', an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms, or an aryl alkyl group having 7-20 carbon atoms. Coupling between a methylene group and an aryl group in an alkyl group and an arylalkyl group and ring structures expressed by A<SP>1</SP>and A<SP>2</SP>may be interrupted by -O-, -S-, -NR''-, -SO<SB>2</SB>-, -CO-, -OCO- or -COO-, and a continuous methylene group in a methylene group may represent -CH=CH- or -C≡C-. R, R 'and R'' each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms which may be substituted, or an aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms which may be substituted.
