PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for the evaluation of antenna characteristics capable of simulating a radio wave environment indoors by generating fading while providing incoming waves while having angular expansion within a prescribed range. SOLUTION: An antenna characteristic evaluation apparatus body 3 includes a first radio wave scatterer 4 arranged between a transmission antenna 1 and a receiving antenna 2; a second radio wave scatterer 7 arranged at a position separated from one side of a straight line connecting the transmission antenna 1 to the receiving antenna 2 to form a triangle formed of straight lines connecting three points of the position, a position of the transmission antenna 1, and a position of the receiving antenna 2; a third radio wave scatterer 5 arranged between the receiving antenna 2 and the second radio wave scatterer 7; a fourth radio wave scatterer 6 arranged between the transmission antenna 1 and the second radio wave scatterer 7; and a rotating scatterer 8 arranged at a position of an intersection between the straight line connecting the transmission antenna 1 to the third radio wave scatterer 5 and the straight line connecting the receiving antenna 2 to the fourth radio wave scatterer 6.
