PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can prevent light leak at a lower cost than heretofore. SOLUTION: This printer includes an encoder sensor 40 provided inside a case 2 and an opening part 35 formed on the exterior face 33a of a substrate unit 31 provided inside the case 2. The printer has a bead 36 which is formed by processing the exterior face 33a at the portion between the encoder sensor 40 and the opening part 35 and is adapted to shade light of the encoder sensor 40 which leaks outside the case 2 throuh the opening part 35.
