PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image forming apparatus capable of reducing the temperature drift of a read IC even when using a sleep state of turning OFF power supply to the read IC or the like in nonuse together in a portable radiation image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The radiation image forming apparatus 2 having a photographable state and the sleep state as driving states includes: a sensor panel part 24 for detecting radiation; the read IC 34 provided with a charge amplifier 37, etc., for reading an output value from the sensor panel part 24 by each pixel unit; a power supply part 27 for supplying power to respective functional parts including the read IC 34; and a power supply control part 30a for switching the ON/OFF of the power supply by the power supply part 27 and controlling the driving state of the respective function parts. When being in the sleep state or shifting from the sleep state to the photographable state, the power supply control part 30a turns ON the power supply by the power supply part 27 for supplying power to the read IC 34 and makes the read IC 34 perform a read operation.
