发明名称 Procédé et appareil perfectionnés pour le tirage de copies
摘要 1,091,501. Printing processes. IMAGIC PROCESS Ltd. Dec. 30, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1964; Jan. 1, 1964], Nos. 89/64 and 12514/65. Heading B6C. Copies of an original design carried by a surface, which is such that the absorbency to a range of liquids differs between image and non-image areas or between contiguous image areas or both, are produced by sandwiching a layer of liquid from the said range between the design-bearing surface and a second surface so as to form a liquid pattern as a result of the differential absorption, and removing the second surface to carry with it the liquid pattern. Copies may be produced from photographs, multi-colour prints, or originals on coated paper, plastics, sintered metal or absorbent ceramics, and may be reproduced on metals, such as zinc and aluminium, used in the production of lithoplates, on glass, ceramics, rubber, plastics, or wood &c. The liquid used may be water, milk, eugenol acetate, a chlorinated diphenyl, a mineral oil, printing ink distillate, glycerine, copaiba, or methylated spirits; super-cooled liquids and liquefied gases may also be used. The liquid layer may be initially provided on the design, Figs. 1-4 (not shown), or on the second surface, Fig. 5 (not shown), and the resultant liquid pattern on the second surface may be offset or developed. The liquid may itself be pigmented or may include a material, e.g. pyrogallic acid, which reacts with a second material on or subsequently applied to a copy sheet so as to form a visible image. Solvent action may also be used to produce a visible print, as may the action of heat. In the embodiment shown, an original 24 is fed between a gelatine or latex-covered offset roller 23 and a second roller 25, the roller 23 being supplied prior to its co-operation with the original with a film of liquid by a porous roller 40. As the roller 23 continues to rotate the liquid mirror image thereon resulting from the differential absorption on the original is transferred to a web 45 of copy material and the transferred 'image is developed in a powder trough 50. The image is fixed by pressure or heat and if desired the mirror image on the roller 23 may be used for a number of copies. The base 21 of the apparatus shown is removable.
