PURPOSE: An apparatus for interworking in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to improve the paging reception probability about a CS(Circuit Switched) voice service without the deterioration of an LTE(Long Term Evolution) network. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for interworking in a wireless communication system comprises steps of: monitoring a paging channel of a legacy network for a data paging message and a CS paging message, when the terminal is in an idle state(206); receiving one of the CS paging message and data paging message(214); establishing a connection with the legacy network corresponding to the received one of the CS paging message and data paging message, wherein a CS voice connection is established with the legacy network if the CS paging message is received and a PS(Packet Switched) data connection is established with the legacy network if the data paging message is received; and performing a handover to the advanced network from the legacy network, if the PS data connection is established with the legacy network(200).
