摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly detect a flaw even if a rod material is shaken in a width direction to be positionally shifted from an ultrasonic probe. SOLUTION: A ultrasonic flaw detection method includes: a process for measuring the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the artificial flaw 11 while changing an irradiation position in the width direction of the rod material 1 by passing through the artificial flaw 11 with respect to the part of the rod material 1 in which the predetermined artificial flaw 11 is formed; a process for measuring the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the base of the rod material 1 while changing the irradiation position in the width direction of the rod material 1 with respect to the part of a rod material 1 having no flaw; a process for obtaining the correction factor corresponding to the intensities of the respective reflected ultrasonic waves from the base of the rod material 1 by the relation between the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the artificial flaw 11 and the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the base of the rod material 1 at the same irradiation position; and a process for correcting the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the natural flaw of the rod material 1 by the correction factor corresponding to the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic wave from the base of the rod material 1 of the ultrasonic wave irradiated to the part of the rod material 1 having no flaw at the almost same position in the width direction of the rod material 1.
