PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotary electric machine and the rotary electric machine wherein performance of the stator of the rotary electric machine can be suitably maintained by facilitating release of heat generated in a wire or the like. SOLUTION: The stator of the rotary electric machine includes a stator core and the wire 12. The wire 12 includes: a slot inside housing part 12c housed in a slot 13 of the stator core; and a turn part 12b located between the slot inside housing part 12c and a slot inside housing part 12d housed in the other slot 13 separated from the slot 13 at a predetermined pitch and formed by being protruded from the end surface of the stator core. The turn part 12b includes a convex-shaped portion 12a which is partially bent in a convex shape in the width direction of the wire 12 and in the direction protruding from the end surface of the stator core and in which a part bent in the concave shape on the side opposite to the width direction is formed by being recessed in the protruding direction from the other turn part 12b.
