A vehicle drive device has an engine, a transmission, a clutch device, and a clutch actuating mechanism. The clutch actuating mechanism has a clutch drum fixed to the outer periphery of an input shaft and retaining a second clutch section. The clutch drum has: a drum chamber; a fixing plate for closing an opening in the drum chamber; a piston surrounded by the clutch drum and partitioning the drum chamber into a hydraulic chamber and a spring chamber; and a pressing element, provided inside the spring chamber so as to be surrounded by the clutch drum, for pressing the piston. |
