A method and system for acquiring frame mapping mode are provided. During a conversation process after a call is established, a base station sub-system notifies a mobile terminal of a message about change occurring in the frame mapping mode of a Slow Associated control Channel (SACCH) used by the sub-system itself, the mobile terminal uses the same SACCH frame mapping mode as the acquired SACCH frame mapping mode With the method of the present invention, after using Voice services over Adaptive Multi-user channels on One Slot (VAMOS) technology in the network, once the base station sub-system decides to change the used SACCH frame mapping mode, the mobile terminal which simultaneously supports the shifted-SACCH and traditional SACCH frame mapping modes can distinctly and timely know which SACCH frame mapping mode ought to be used, wherein, the consistency between the SACCH frame mapping modes used by the base station sub-system and that used by the mobile terminal is ensured, so that the successful calling from the mobile terminal is ensured. |
