PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing a digital image and a method for controlling the same are provided to increase the convenience of a user by creating a designated menu fit for a subsidiary display part. CONSTITUTION: An image input unit(310) receives an input image. A first display unit(350) and a second display unit(360) display one of the input image or an OSD(On Screen Display). A selection detection unit detects whether the second display part is selected or not. If the second display unit is selected, a first display unit is turned off and the second display unit is turned on. The firs display unit is a main display and the second display unit is an electronic view finder.
