PURPOSE: A composition containing Humulus japonicus plant extract and Quercus acuta leaf extract is provided to suppress mast cell degranulation and to treat atopic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating atopic dermatitis contains Humulus japonicus plant extract and Quercus acuta extract as an active ingredient. The extract is: extract obtained by extracting with alcohol of 1-5 carbon atoms, acetone, hexane, ethyl acetate, chloroform, dichloromethane, water, or mixture solvent; extract obtained using water, ethanol, or mixture solvent thereof; extract of a fraction solvent layer obtained by fractioning the extract with water and hexane, water and dichloromethane, water and ethyl acetate, or water and butanol; or extract obtained by suspending solid extract and fractioning with hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and butanol in order. The composition is a cosmetic composition or pharmaceutical composition.
