PURPOSE: An ethylene gas absorbing agent and a method for preparing the same are provided to increase the absorbing properties with respect to ethylene gas and moisture emitted from crops, fruits, and vegetables based on silica and potassium permanganate. CONSTITUTION: A potassium permanganate solution is prepared by dissolving 50 to 70 weight% of potassium permanganate. Silica is introduced into the potassium permanganate solution as a carrier. A mixing operation and a cooling operation are followed. An ethylene gas absorbing agent is prepared in a powder shape. The particle size of the ethylene gas absorbing agent is between 150 and 200 mesh. |
